We held our Year 6 Leavers' Service on Friday with a packed hall of parents, grandparents and relatives to say goodbye to our 60 Year 6 pupils. We heard two lovely songs, with words changed to reflect the children's time at GV; gave out special awards and certificates; shared our hopes and dreams for the future; gave the famous 'Top 10 of Camp'; thought about who or what we wanted to be in the future. Mr Lynch also shared, in traditional style, photographs taken over the years of the pupils....mainly in Reception and KS1. Didn't they look cute!!
We wish the pupils the very best of luck as they transfer to their secondary schools, or return to their home country, after the summer break.
Thanks to the staff and parent helpers who made sure the children were occupied, fed and watered so well! It was lovely to see the first day photos too that parents had sent in as well as all of the class photos from the previous seven years! My, how they have changed....!
Lovely, 'friendly' competition.....apart from one member of staff who just had to win!! (No names....but he did get two strikes in a row!)
Lots of fun was had by everyone!
The pupils in Year 6 performed their musical play on two consecutive evenings this week - and what a delight it was! The temperature in the hall was almost unbearable, but this did not stop the flow of a very challenging but enchanting show. There was some delightful singing, clearly enunciated lines and slick stage management!
Special thanks to all members of staff who played their part in guiding and supporting the pupils; also, to Mrs Britton and Mr James for giving the time generously for backdrop painting and prop making. Finally, to Mrs Roberts for videoing the performance which will be available to the pupils at the end of term.
Enjoy the photographs!
