Sports Premium Planning

This year (2026-27) we intend to focus on using the funding to:

  • Provide opportunities for pupils to participate in a range of local sporting events and competitions, ensuring broad participation across different year groups.
  • Continue to develop pupils’ swimming competence, confidence and water safety through high quality swimming provision.
  • Enhance the quality and enjoyment of our annual Sports Days, promoting participation, achievement and personal bests for all pupils.
  • Utilise external sports coaches to provide specialist teaching, enrich curriculum provision and support staff development in key sporting areas.
  • Promote and celebrate sporting participation and achievement through assemblies and newsletters.

  • Encourage healthy, active lifestyles through PE lessons, sporting events and whole-school physical activity opportunities.

Sustainability Our plan for ensuring long-term sustainability includes the following:

  • Working alongside external coaches to upskill staff and improve confidence in delivering high quality PE and sports activities.
  • Maintaining strong links with local schools, sports providers and competition organisers to ensure continued access to sporting events and competitions.
  • Sustaining high quality swimming provision to support future cohorts in achieving national curriculum expectations.
  • Continuing membership of relevant local sports partnerships to provide opportunities for participation, competition and inclusion.
  • Maintaining key PE and sports equipment to support the delivery of core physical education and sporting events
