Vision and Values
2023-2024 Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. They underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils as confident, happy citizens.
Term 1 = Resilience
Term 2 = Empathy
Term 3 = Respect
Term 4 = Responsibility
Term 5 = Gratitude
Term 6 = Equity
Our assemblies use these values as an over-arching theme to reinforce the learning.
British Values
At Golden Valley Primary School, we actively promote British Values, as defined under the Ofsted guidance, through our school vision, ethos, agreed rules, curriculum and teaching:
‘ensure that they and the school promote tolerance of and respect for people of all faiths (or those of no faith), cultures and lifestyles; and support and help, through their words, actions and influence within the school and more widely in the community, to prepare children and young people positively for life in modern Britain’. OFSTED 2014
The government define these values as
- Democracy
- Rule of law
- Individual liberty
- Mutual respect
- Tolerance of those of different faiths
These values are woven in to the curriculum and wider school offer and are further enhanced using school assemblies.
